The work of the Chamber is guided and accomplished by committees who report to the board of directors. Participants gain insight into the people and processes in the business community, and profile their abilities and talents. Please contact the Chamber office for meeting times and locations.

Membership Committee:

The Membership Committee oversees membership growth and retention. This includes listening to the membership, and assessing needs and interests. This Committee oversees the development and delivery of member benefits, networking and socializing opportunities, and professional development.
 

Marketing & Communication

Ensures that members and the community are in the know about Chamber activities, and initiatives via internal and external media. Produces Chamber e-newsletter. Reviews and develops branding.  Designs and conducts member surveys. Develops opportunities for shared/reduced cost advertising for Chamber members.

New Visitor Centre Committees

This Committee oversees the building of the new Visitor Centre adjacent to the BC Forest Discovery. This project triggers $1.3 million dollars spending in the area, and will increase tourism, tourism spending and retention in the Cowichan Valley.

Human Resource Committee

Oversees staffing at the Chamber.

Black Tie Awards Committee

Produces the annual Black Tie Awards honour excellence in business and volunteerism in the Cowichan Valley.
