Duncan - Cowichan Chamber of Commerce

ABOUT THE DUNCAN - COWICHAN
CHAMBER Of COMMERCE

Our Vision: “Build a Strong Community, Through Strength in Business”

Our Mission: “Engage the business community through membership to provide advocacy, service, education, support and opportunity

Origins

The Duncan-Cowichan Chamber of Commerce originated in 1908 as the Duncan Board of Trade. A group of business owners, professionals, trades-people, and associations joined forces to discuss and implement ways to protect and enhance their role in the community, address issues, and positively influence the overall health of the economy of the region.

Mission

Our Chamber’s mission is to “Build a Strong Community Through Strength in Business”. The goal of the board and staff is to develop a cohesive business environment in the community, offering advocacy and support to our members. Our members are the Chamber, and the support team at the office is here to serve you and the business community.

One of the most important reasons to belong to the Chamber is the opportunity to network and build relationships with other members; sharing concerns, ideas and enthusiasm, creating a profitable and positive business environment.

We provide members with educational opportunities, marketing, and networking. Through the Chamber, members have the opportunity to participate in workshops and forums addressing current issues.

Members benefit from discounts on business services. Quantity purchasing through BC Chamber allows us to offer competitive rates on credit card processing fees, gas purchases, group health benefits and much more.

The Duncan Cowichan Chamber of Commerce has 350 members representing a cross section of businesses, non-profit organizations and government agencies.

Funding for the new Cowichan Regional Visitor Centre is confirmed. This  purpose-built facility will draw and serve more visitors, extend their time in the region and stream them to attractions through Cowichan.

Your membership enables the Chamber to work on your behalf.  There are many ways that you can take a more active role in the health of our business community. Get involved and make a difference!
