Zoran Knezevic, President & CEO of the Port Alberni Port Authority, presents at our Chamber luncheon on Nov. 16/17. The Authority is working to develop a new container terminal to serve more international traffic. If undertaken, the terminal will have enormous economic benefits locally and nationally.

  • 7 days’ sailing time savings for large container ships
  • 14.5 million kilometres fewer truck trips in Greater Vancouver leads to the reduction of 22,000 tons of CO2 emissions
  • Dramatically improved import / export opportunities for the more than 2200 Vancouver Island businesses, and the jobs they create, in goods production and manufacturing on Vancouver Island
