DESCRIPTION:The Chamber\, in partnership with Sands Funeral Home\, is pleased to welcome John Dub \, Board President with the BC Bereavement Helpline\, in honour of National Bereavement Day. \n\n\n\nJohn will be speaking about the components and services that the BCBH delivers provincially\, as well as resources that are available in our region. John share on some of the organization's work with bereaved individuals and the impact of bereavement in the workplace. Learn about the positive impact BCBH's group support model is having on bereaved individuals\, and what businesses can do to support grieving employees.\n\n\n\nThis Speaker Series Luncheon is open to the general public\, as well as Chamber members\, at a special ticket price of $33.00 plus gst. \n\n\n\nThe Luncheon will begin at 11:30 am with an opportunity to network\, tea and coffee provided. The presentation and luncheon will begin promptly at noon. He began his work in 1985\, responding to family and community needs resulting from suicide\, homicide or traumatic death. John is currently the Program Manager and Clinical Supervisor of Family Preservation and Family Support programs with Family Services of the North Shore. These programs work closely with MCFD\, supporting families struggling with addictions\, mental health and domestic violence. He is also an adjunct instructor at Adler University teaching graduate level Ethics in Counselling Psychology.
