Welcome to Duncan and the Cowichan Region
The Cowichan region is located on Vancouver Island on Canada’s West Coast in the province of British Columbia. It is nestled comfortably between two mid-size cities – Victoria with a population of 325,000, 45 km south and Nanaimo, with a population of 80,000, 45 km north, providing all the allure of small community life, while within an hour of every possible service and amenity.
The region is known world-wide as “The Warm Land”, not only because of our moderate and sunny climate, but because of the warm and welcoming nature of the people who live here.
Duncan is the commercial hub of the Cowichan Region, and is expanding rapidly to meet the demands of a growing regional population. New shopping malls, residential and commercial developments, plus enhanced health and education services cater to an influx of people who are relocating here from more hectic lifestyles.
In the Cowichan, you get the best of what Vancouver Island living has to offer, plus all of the amenities you need to thrive. We’re an ideal blend of the urban and rural, with easy access to major services and business supports, while being able to enjoy all the fringe and recreational benefits of coastal life.
This vibrant, diverse and affordable community is the perfect place to live, work and play
