SUMMARY:Birds\, Blooms & Barnyards
DESCRIPTION:Come down and see this whimsical show exhibiting a collection of works from artists Pauline Dueck and Val Konig. About the artists: "Pauline has developed her own bold style. She loves painting large\, color-saturated images\, in a realistic yet painterly style. Her subjects frequently reflect her country roots\, featuring animals and dramatic florals\, often with a whimsical twist." "Val grew up in northern British Columbia and at 17 she was becoming proficient in both oils and acrylics. A year later\, she was doing commissions and selling her work in Prince Rupert. She began exhibiting in solo and group shows shortly after moving to Salt Spring in 1980. For several years she studied under world-class painter Allen Edwards\, who spent his latter years teaching there. She has received instruction from some of North America's finest artists\; Robert Genn\, Judi Betts\, Christopher Schink\, Brian Johnson\, and Rex Brandt\, to name a few."
