CAROLL TAIJI, TAIJI BRAND GROUP | PANELIST
Caroll is an award-winning creative thinker and strategist with over 30 years of experience developing authentic, powerful brands that stand for something real and inspire deep loyalty.  Before starting her own agency, she was a creative director for Palmer Jarvis DDB and was also Vice President of Organizational Development.  As President of Taiji Brand Group, Caroll has evolved a virtual creative agency model, which is now being emulated by others as the industry adjusts to changing global conditions.

GRANT MCKINNON, PACIFIC HOMES | PANELIST
Born and raised in Cowichan, Grant obtained a degree in Forestry at UBC and worked in the woods for a major forestry company for several years.  He returned to family-owned Pacific Builders Supplies in 1992 and later took over as the second generation of leadership with his brothers in 1995.  At one time they had 3 truss plants, 4 Rona stores, 3 bars and over 500 employees. In September of this year, Grant completed the sale of the operating business to Winnipeg-based All-Fab Group, but will stay on as Executive Director.

PETER RICHMOND, 49TH PARALLEL GROCERY | PANELIST | Peter is the current President of the 49th Parallel Grocery group, which includes four community-minded grocery stores, a flower shop, two dollar stores and a print shop.  Peter graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Commerce and earned his CPA designation in 1989 before returning to the island in 1996 to help the family business, expanding from one store to two.  49th Grocery is in the early stages of building a second Grocery store at Berkeys Corner in Duncan.
