The Duncan Cowichan Chamber of Commerce invites the public to support the efforts of the Cowichan Regional Visitor Centre in providing year-round visitor servicing by bidding on their fantastic Holiday Silent Auction. This year there are upwards of 85 bidding lots, all donated and provided by local Cowichan businesses. These bidding lots include a variety of items, from restaurant gift cards and travel vouchers to designer sunglasses and apparel.
The supply chain issues we are experiencing are making the pressure of holiday shopping even heavier, making this the perfect year to buy your gifts locally and support the Cowichan Regional Visitor Centre at the same time. The bidding for this virtual silent auction has started and will continue until Monday, November 29th, which is coincidentally Cyber Monday.
In a typical year, the Cowichan Regional Visitor Centre aids around 30,000 visitors annually, directing them to Cowichan businesses and attractions. Like many small businesses, the Cowichan Regional Visitor Centre has had to adapt to the new world of COVID-19 restrictions. Over the last 20-months, many of our revenue streams have been impacted by: lower retail sales, reduced municipal grants, and increased staffing to accommodate volunteers not comfortable working with the public during the pandemic. Start bidding here.
All successful bidders must pick up and pay for their item at the Cowichan Regional Visitor Centre before December 3rd, or the item will go to the next highest bidder. Payment can also be made over the phone via CC. Pick-up will be available during our Shop Sip & Support event at the Cowichan Regional Visitor Centre on December 3rd.
