Fall Wednesday Wellness Walk - Somenos Marsh with Somenos Marsh Wildlife Society
In partnership with the Somenos Marsh Wildlife Society, we are welcoming back our Wellness Walks with a Fall Wellness Walk at Somenos Marsh. There is no better way to start the day than with the morning mist, bird activity, and autumn colours that Somenos Marsh has to offer. Remember to dress warm, bring a coffee or tea, and have a camera or phone ready as there will be plenty of photo ops. This walk will start at the Open Air Classroom at promptly 8:00 AM and finish around 9:00 AM, giving you plenty of time to start your work day.
This will be a great opportunity to network with your Chamber colleagues and get out in your community. Please RSVP as soon as possible.
Directions to Open Air Classroom (OAC): The OAC can be accessed by car by turning into the parking lot a short distance north from the Beverly Street and Trans Canada Highway Intersection. Look for the long brown fence and kiosk. Give plenty of notice that you are turning in. There is a donation box near the entrance for donations towards the ongoing maintenance. The OAC is a place for learning, rest, exercise and wildlife watching. Flat gravel trails lead to, and out of, the elevated wheelchair accessible boardwalk structure. The boardwalk is level with secure handrails that provide support for those who need it and allow children to run free. Interpretive signs line the boardwalk providing history and natural history information. There is also a raised wheelchair accessible wildlife viewing platform.
